Obesity Weight Control

Due to the rising costs of living, parents are often too busy making money to cook healthy meals at home. This has led to the constant trips to fast food joints and restaurants that have grease-laden food on the menu. The negative effects that these fatty and salty foods have usually result in overweight children.
Another factor that can be seen as one of the causes of childhood obesity is the environmental and psychological factor. Children who are obese often use food as a security blanket. Instead of facing what they feel head-on they often hide behind food. Feelings of anger, depression, boredom or sadness may translate into eating binges. These binges then result in obesity and weight gain. The environment or their surroundings also has a bearing on the way a child eats. If he or she sees people eating more than is necessary, they will then see it as a normal thing and do the same things themselves.

Heredity is also a factor in childhood obesity. If a child has obese parents, chances are, they will also be obese.
