Avoid the consumption of refined or processed foods as most of the nutrients from these foods are stripped during the refining process.
Include good quality proteins and calcium for optimum growth of bones. Good sources of proteins include eggs, low fat dairy products, fish, beans, legumes, poultry without skin and lean meat. As you are also overweight you should avoid other sources of proteins that are also high in fat like organ meats (kidney, liver, and brain), shell fish (prawns, lobsters, crabs, shrimps), whole cuts of meat, ham, pork and poultry with the skin. Good sources of calcium include all the low fat dairy products, ragi, green leafy vegetables, and sesame seeds.
Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet in the form of salads and vegetable gravies.
Drink a lot of water and keep yourself well hydrated. You can drink a glass of water 15 minutes before having your meals if you tend to over eat in your meals. Drinking water before a meal will make you less hungry at meal time thus you will tend to binge less.
Avoid some obvious foods that cause weight gain, that is; sweets, sugar, creamy desserts, fatty or oily foods, junk foods, chocolates, candies, ice creams, carbonated drinks, sodas, colas, sweetened fruit or vegetable juices, bakery foods made from butter and margarine like cookies, biscuits, cakes and pastries.
Try some yoga asanas like mountain pose, sun salutations, tree pose, bridge pose and foot hand pose to increase your height.
