Seasonal Trends: Sexy Tousled Hair

Springtime is wisking through the air, whipping through the trees, tousling the green and yellow leaves, and…leaving our perfect coiffures in a wreck? Take out the bobby pins, undo the hair elastics and thin leather headbands, and get ready for the opening season of carefree curls, luscious waves, and long-haired babes. Us that are on the short end of the hair strands are not going to be left behind: there are plenty of sexy wind-tousled, carefree looks to try! I’m so excited to get out of the dull and drab and go on the quest for the perfect just-off-the-beach, tousled hair look. Here are some tips and products I can’t wait to try!

Tip #1: Long-haired Beauties are going to want to get those loose curls cascading down their backs: for that perfect look, pair velcro rollers with the Tresemme line of Heat Tamer hair sprays and gels. Blast with a hair dryer and don’t frizz, the product will smooth your rough edges and give your curls some body and volume. Success!

Tip #2: Medium-length Babes are not going to have the length necessary for the velcro rollers. Pair hand-rolled technique and hand-tousled and scrunched curls and waves with your secret weapon, a sea salt spray. It will give you texture and that beautiful, naturally beachy scene that will keep you glowing from inside and out.

Tip #3: Short-haired sisters are edgy, and I count myself among the bunch. You are going to want to go piecey and texturize: my favorite products for short hair are Bed Head, especially the new Bed Head Mastermind, a perfect sculpting gel. Remember, for short hair to get an out of control look, keep the brush at bay: you shouldn’t have any knots or snarls in the shorter locks, so leave the brush on the shelf and instead piece and curl with your fingers and make small loops tied up with bobby pins for extra volume and curl. Don’t be afraid to throw in a thick, colorful printed headscarf to to brighten things up.

What do you think? Any tips or tricks you’ve discovered about perfecting the springtime tousled look? Do you have a favorite beach hair spray? How about hair curlers?
